Child Care Grants
Small grants of up to $300 are available to assist meeting attendees who are bringing small children or who incur extra expenses in leaving them at home (i.e., extra daycare or babysitting services).
Please complete the Application for Childcare Grant and fax it to the number on the form. Applications must be received by February 1, 2009 to be considered by a subcommittee of the Committee on the Status of Women in Physics (CSWP). In the event that the number of requests for grants exceeds the funding available, preference will be given to applicants in the early stages of their careers. If you are interested in childcare sharing, you may also use this moderated Child Care Bulletin Board (below) to connect with other parents.

Parents/Children Quiet Room
APS will designate a small room for parents who bring infants and young children to the Meeting. The purpose of the room is to provide a place for parents to come for quiet time and relaxation with their small children. The room will be furnished with comfortable furniture and water, but there will be no supervised childcare and no toys provided.
Denver Child Care Providers
A list of local childcare providers is provided for your convenience by the Denver Metro Convention and Visitors Bureau. Neither American Physical Society nor the Committee on the Status of Women in Physics has reviewed nor endorsed the services of any specific child care provider on this list, and assumes no liability. The Denver Metro Convention and Visitors Bureau has provided the list as a courtesy and they, too, take no responsibility as to the reliability of these child care services.
